TRIAL LESSONS

If you have never flown before in a light aircraft, it makes good sense to experience the sensation before committing to lessons. We offer trial lessons Gift Vouchers lasting for either 30 minutes, 40 minutes or one hour. We can also arrange a 'Land Away' option consisting of a lesson with a landing at another airfield, followed by a further lesson on your return trip back to your airport. These costs will depend on the destination of your 'land away'.

If you fancy something completely different, you could treat yourself to a nostalgic trial lesson in our DeHavilland Chipmunk, a classic 1951 RAF trainer, and even experience the thrill of aerobatics, if you wish!

The purpose of your trial lesson is to introduce you to the joy of flying. On the day you will be given a pre-flight talk on how the aeroplane works and how you will be able to control it. You will then be asked where you want to go. In a 40 minute lesson we can go to most places within about 20 miles of the airport.

You will then go out to the aircraft with your instructor who will show you around the outside and inside of the aircraft, before starting up the aeroplane to taxy. Once airborne, you will be amazed at the wonderful views of Sussex and beyond.

Once away from the airport, the instructor will start to teach you how to fly, and you will be able to see if learning to fly is what you would like to do. At the end of the lesson, we will issue you with a certificate, with all the details of your flight. Keep hold of this! If you really enjoyed it, and it's on to the next stage, your trial lesson will count towards the course requirements and it will be the very first entry in your PPL logbook.
